You can now set recurring dates for your tasks with a dedicated interface on the web!
While our natural language parsing (“every other Friday”) has always been the fastest way to set recurring tasks, sometimes you just want to click a few buttons and be done with it. Now you can have it both ways – type it out or use the new interface, whichever feels right in the moment.

For a few days this is only available for testers using Todoist in English, Spanish, and Japanese as we work on bringing it to all 17 languages. 🌍
Here’s quick walkthrough (bonus: stick around for his surprise Spanish skills at the end – turns out our French Product Manager has hidden talents!):

To try it out, go to a task without a date, open the scheduler, and click Repeat at the bottom of the scheduler menu. You’ll see quick preset options plus a custom menu for those more complex recurring tasks (like “every three weeks on Thursday until August”).
When you set a recurrence using the new menu, it automatically updates the date in the scheduler text input – and vice versa. Your choice, every time.
Share your feedback
This is live for Experimentalists using Todoist in English, Spanish, and Japanese. Update to at least v7975 on the web to see it.
We’ll roll this out to all languages and our mobile apps once we’re confident it’s working smoothly based on your feedback.
If you find bugs and odd behaviors with recurrences, or have requests for improvements, please submit them via the feedback form in the Custom recurrence modal. That helps us immensely!
Happy testing 🧪
