When an automation goes live, its detail page gives you a full set of controls for turning it on or off, running it on demand, changing what it does, duplicating it, exporting its setup, fixing its connections, and reviewing its run history. Learn about the different options available when managing an existing automation, and how to use them.
Get started
To manage or make changes to any of your automations, click All Automations in the sidebar. Select any automation card from the list. If you've several automations, click the filters menu and select either Enabled or Disabled filters to narrow things down.
Turn an automation on or off
An automation has a toggle switch both on its card in the All Automations page, and at the top of its detail page. Turning it off stops it from running without deleting it, so you can pause it temporarily, make adjustments as needed, and turn it back on later.
Run it on demand
Open the More options menu at the top of the automation's details, and select Run now. This triggers a run immediately and outside its normal schedule. This is useful for testing a change or for getting an overdue run out of the way.
Nota
Change what it does
Open the More options menu and select Change in chat. This starts a brand new conversation and prefills the chat bar with a default message, waiting for you to send it. Write any adjustments you need in plain language, whether that’s a different schedule, an extra condition, or a tweaked message. Then, click the Send Message button to send it.
Duplicate an automation
Open the More options menu and select Duplicate. This option starts a new conversation in the Automation chat, and sends a message asking to build a new automation based on this one. It won't make a copy of the automation on its own.
Specify what should be different, like creating the same workflow for another project, channel, or schedule. Once it creates a draft, and you're happy with how it's set up, confirm that it's ready to go live. You'll see the new automation either in the Enabled automations section of the sidebar, or in the All Automations page.
Copy or download its manifest
The manifest is the automation’s underlying definition in a structured format. If you need to troubleshoot an automation, or save a backup, click the More options menu and select either Copy manifest or Download manifest.
Most people won’t need this day to day, but it’s useful for sharing your exact setup with support, or for backing up a configuration before you make a risky change.
Fix its connections
The Connections section on the detail page shows every app the automation relies on. If an app needs attention, you’ll see a warning with a Manage button. It opens a dialog listing each required connection, which account it’s using, an option to choose a different app account, or reconnect the current app account.
The automation also shows a Check connections flag in the All Automations page whenever this needs your attention.
Review its run history
The History panel next to the automation’s details shows every past run with the most recent run at the top, along with its outcome. If the automation hasn’t run yet, you’ll see an empty state instead. This is expected when you've just created a brand new automation, or for a manually triggered automation.
Delete an automation
Open the More options menu and select Delete. You’ll be asked to confirm. Select Delete Automation to go ahead, or Cancel to keep it.
