A Todoist promotion lets you pay for Pro with some savings on the side. Once applied, Pro features are ready to use on every device where you’re signed in to the same Todoist account.
If you're paying through direct billing, promotions arrive as a link, not as a code you type into Todoist. Click the link, and Todoist applies the discount automatically at checkout. If you're paying through an in-app purchase with Google, you'll redeem a promo code.
Discounts and ways to save
Todoist doesn’t offer separate discounts or promotions for students, families, or non-profit organizations. There are still a few ways to lower the cost of Pro:
- Pay yearly instead of monthly. A yearly Pro subscription costs around 30% less than paying month to month.
- The Beginner plan includes a team workspace with its own usage limits, so you can collaborate without upgrading to Pro.
- Content creators, publishers, bloggers, coaches, and productivity experts may be able to join the Partner Program and become Todoist Ambassadors.
If you received a promo link instead, here’s how to use it with your Todoist subscription:
Promo links on the Todoist website
Promotions are sent as a unique link. There’s no code to enter in Todoist. Click the link, and the discount is applied at checkout automatically.
If you’re having trouble using your promo link, get in touch with us and share the link in your message.
If the promotion's applied successfully, your subscription pauses the charge depending on its duration. For example, if you received a promo link for 3 months of Todoist, your subscription will pause for 90 days before charging for the renewal.
Note
Pro trials and promo links
You can’t use a promo link on the Todoist website while you’re on a Pro trial, since your account already has Pro. To use your promotion:
- Cancel your Pro trial before it ends. You can keep using Pro until the trial’s end date.
- Wait for the trial to end. Your account returns to the Beginner plan.
- Open the promo link and complete the checkout process. The discount is applied automatically.
If you don’t cancel the trial, it turns into a paid Pro subscription at the end of the trial. When this happens, you won't be able to use the promo link. If your trial ends, but the discount isn't applied to your account, get in touch with us and share the link in your message.
App Store subscriptions and promo links
Promo links work through the Todoist website checkout, so it can't be used with a subscription purchased through an in-app purchase with Apple.
If you subscribed through the App Store, and you want to use a promo link, cancel your App Store subscription and wait for it to end. Once it ends, click the promo link and start a new subscription through the Todoist website.
Google Play promo codes
When redeeming a Google Play promo code, the credit goes towards your Pro subscription, so you get to use all the paid features at a reduced cost.
You can only redeem Google Play promo codes in Todoist for Android. When you’re ready, here’s how to apply the promo code:
- Tap Browse at the bottom right.
- Tap the gear icon at the top right.
- Tap Upgrade to Pro.
- Select Yearly plan or Monthly plan.
- Tap Continue.
- Select your current payment method on the checkout page.
- Scroll down on the checkout page.
- Tap Redeem code.
- Enter the promo code.
- Tap Redeem.
After your free trial ends, the promo credit pays for your Pro plan. To stop Pro from renewing after that, cancel the auto-renewal in your Google Play account before the promo code’s expiry date.
