Todoist Comms is a team communication app from Todoist. It uses your Todoist account and team workspace, so your teammates are already there when you sign in. Use it on the web, or download the desktop and mobile apps. Turn any thread, comment, or chat message into a Todoist task without leaving the conversation, and paste a task link into Todoist Comms to share a live task card with your team.

- Hover over the comment or chat message.
- Click the three dots icon for the Comment options.
- Click Suggest tasks. The Suggested Tasks panel opens with a preview of the tasks Todoist found.
- Click Add task or Add tasks.

Select part of a comment or chat message to create a task from that text with Quick Add.
- Select the text in the comment or message.
- Click Add to Todoist in the toolbar that appears above the selection.
- Click Add task.
Before you add the task, you can edit the task name, click Inbox to choose a different project, or click Date to schedule it.
The task description includes a Todoist Comms link back to the conversation.
Share a Todoist task in Todoist Comms
Paste a Todoist task link into any thread, comment, or chat message. Todoist Comms replaces the raw link with the task name and adds a task card underneath. Todoist also posts a message in the conversation when a teammate creates a task from it or links a task to it, for example “Ana added a task,” with the card below the message.
For tasks in your team workspace, the card shows:
- Checkbox: Click Mark task as complete to complete the task from Todoist Comms, or Mark task as incomplete to reopen it.
- Date: Shows when the task is scheduled, for example Today or Tomorrow, with the time and a recurring icon where they apply.
- Assignee: Click the avatar to open Assign to… and reassign the task to another teammate.
Completed tasks are labeled “Completed task.” Click the task name to open it in Todoist. Task cards refresh when you open or reload the conversation, so a change made in Todoist can take a minute to appear in Todoist Comms.
