Want to plan, triage, and capture tasks without leaving your Claude conversation? Connect Todoist to Claude via the Todoist connector for a chat-first workflow. This lets Claude read, create, and update your Todoist tasks and projects without the context switching.

Check account requirements
To use Claude with Todoist, check if you meet all the account requirements:
- Sign up for a Claude account on any plan.
- Owner or Primary Owner on any Claude Team and Enterprise plan should enable connectors for their organization, so that members can add them.
- Log in to Claude with OAuth, which gives Claude access through the official Todoist connector.
Set up the integration
The Todoist connector lets Claude read and update your tasks and projects directly from a conversation. You only need to set it up once for it to be available on all your devices.
Let’s start by setting up the integration:
Find Todoist in the Connector directory
- Log in to Claude.
- Click the plus button at the lower-left corner of the chat.
- Click Connectors.
- Click Add connector.
- Select Browse connectors.
- Search for Todoist in the Connector directory.
- Click Connect.
Log in to Todoist and approve access
Follow the prompts to log in to your Todoist account. Review the requested permissions, and approve access. Once authorized, Todoist is ready to use in your Claude conversations.
Todoist tools load at the start of each conversation. If you’ve just connected, open a new chat. They’ll be ready to use.
Learn what Claude has access to
When set up correctly, Claude can use Todoist to:
- Read your Todoist tasks and projects.
- Create tasks and projects.
- Update tasks and projects (for example: rename, reschedule, or move to a different project).

Limitations to the Todoist Connector
Claude handles most everyday Todoist actions through the connector. Here’s what it can do today, and the few things it can’t do yet:
| Claude supports | Claude doesn't support |
|---|---|
| Read, create, update, or complete tasks | Add or move a new project inside a team workspace folder |
| Read, create, or update projects | Reorder projects in the sidebar |
| Schedule or reschedule recurring or non-recurring tasks | |
| Manage sections, labels, comments, or filters | |
| Assign tasks in shared projects |

Try these Claude prompt examples
Anything you can describe clearly, Claude can usually translate into structured Todoist changes. Here are a few prompts that work well once you’re connected to Claude:
| Category | Example prompts |
|---|---|
| Inbox triage |
|
| Weekly review support |
|
| Project planning |
|
| Natural-language task capture |
|
| Large batch of tasks | Claude can add up to 25 tasks in a single action. If you're working with a long list, be specific in your prompts.

Learn about privacy and data handling
When you connect Todoist to Claude, your task data is shared with both Todoist’s servers and Claude. Data handling on Todoist’s side is governed by Todoist’s privacy policy; data that enters Claude’s context (your tasks, projects, and so on) is also subject to Anthropic’s privacy policy.
For extra peace of mind, review what permissions you’ve granted at any time by visiting Todoist’s Settings > Integrations.
Troubleshoot the integration
As you use the Todoist connector, you may encounter a technical issue or an error message in Claude. Here’s how to troubleshoot the most common issues with the Todoist connector, and how to resolve them:
Todoist doesn’t appear in the connector directory
If you’re on a Team or Enterprise plan, check with your workspace admin if connectors are enabled for your organization. An Owner or Primary Owner must enable connectors before members can add and use them.
OAuth connection failure between Claude and Todoist
Connection failures almost always happen during the OAuth login step. Follow these steps in this exact order:
- Disable strict pop-up blockers, then try logging in again.
- Check Settings > Connectors in Claude. Then, open a new chat to see if Todoist appears there. The connection may still have gone through even if you saw “Sorry, the page you’re looking for isn’t here anymore” right after approving access.
- Check if the Owner or Primary Owner of your Claude team workspace approved the Todoist connector. When checking the connector, you’ll only see the “Requested” status until they manually approve it.
OAuth window doesn’t open or keeps failing
Disable strict pop-up blockers for the login flow and try again.
“Sorry, the page you’re looking for isn’t here anymore” error
After you approve access in the Todoist login window, Claude may show a “Sorry, the page you’re looking for isn’t here anymore” error.
Open Claude and go to Settings > Connectors to check whether Todoist appears as connected. If it does, open a new conversation and you’re ready to use it. If Todoist doesn’t appear, look for the Todoist connector in Claude. Then, click Connect to start the connection again.
Todoist connector shows “Requested” and won’t complete
If you're a member of a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, you may see that the Todoist connector shows as "Requested", but it doesn't complete the setup. This is because individual connector requests need approval from your organization’s Owner or Primary Owner inside Claude before the connection can finish.
To resolve this, contact the Claude Owner or Primary Owner of your workspace, and ask them to approve the Todoist connector. Once approved, find Todoist in the Claude Connection directory and add Todoist to complete the connection.
There's nothing to approve from the Todoist app.
Stuck at the Claude sign-up or login page
When setting up the integration, clicking Connect may take you to a Claude sign-up or login page. This happens when you’re not logged in to your Claude account.
To resolve this, open a web browser and log in to Claude. Then, open the Connection directory and try adding the Todoist connector again.
Claude says it has no Todoist tools, or the tools don’t appear
Todoist tools load at the start of each conversation, so open a new chat first if you’ve just connected or reconnected.
If a fresh chat doesn’t help, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Claude account.
- Click Settings > Connectors and check that Todoist still shows as connected. If it isn't added as a connector, search and add Todoist.
- Update to the latest version of Claude, especially if you're using the Claude apps for iOS and Android. A recent update added an extra approval step, so you'll need to allow Claude to discover connectors and give permission to use Todoist again.
Hinweis
Claude created a project but it’s in the wrong place
The Todoist MCP can’t place a new project inside a workspace folder. After Claude creates the project, move it to the right folder manually in Todoist.
A recurring task lost its repeat schedule
This happens when Claude changes the date instead of rescheduling the task. For recurring tasks, say “reschedule this task to [date]” rather than “change the date to [date].” If the recurrence was lost, open the task in Todoist and set it again in the task date field.
Remove the integration

- Select Todoist.
- Click Disconnect.
Then, switch to Todoist and disconnect the integration:
