Use Zoom with Todoist Automations

Zoom is a video communications platform for meetings, webinars, and team chat. It includes AI Companion summaries, transcripts, and cloud recordings, so it's easy to refer back and share what was discussed during the call. With this integration, your Todoist automation can pull in and process recordings, summaries, transcripts, and docs of your Zoom meetings, as part of your workflow.

Set up the integration

You can connect Zoom directly in the Automations chat when you create an automation, so there's no need to manually set up the integration in advance. 

If you need to connect it manually:

  1. Sign in to your Todoist account.
  2. Open to your Automations connections settings.
  3. Select Zoom in the list of connected services.
  4. Click Zoom.
  5. Click Connect.

Use the integration

Trigger an automation from a Zoom event

You can start an automation whenever something happens in Zoom. For example:

  • When a meeting ends, create a Todoist task to send follow-up notes to your team.
  • When the AI Companion summary is ready, add it to an email message to send to the team.

Supported triggers include:

  • A meeting starting
  • A meeting ending
  • A meeting summary being completed or updated
  • An AI Companion transcript being completed
  • A cloud recording being completed

Use Zoom as a step in an automation

When you create an automation, you can have it search for and pull in Zoom content as part of your workflow, like meetings, summaries, transcripts, recordings, Docs, and other AI Companion assets. For example:

  • Every Friday at 5pm, find this week's completed meeting summaries and send an email digest.
  • When a meeting summary is ready, turn the key points into a Todoist task and post the recording link to a Slack channel.
  • When a cloud recording finishes, add a link to the recording in a doc created in a specific Google Drive folder or Notion page.

These Zoom steps are available as built-in actions when you create or edit an automation. Combine them with other connectors like Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, Notion, GitHub, and Microsoft 365 in the same workflow.

Run an automation manually

When you're ready to launch your automation, open the Todoist automation and click Run now. 

Remove the integration

If you no longer want to use the Zoom integration, disconnect it from Todoist, or remove the app from your Zoom account entirely:

  1. Open your Automations connections settings.
  2. Find Zoom in the list of connected services.
  3. Click Zoom.
  4. Click Disconnect.

Remove Todoist Automations from Zoom

Nota

This removes Todoist Automations for both you and everyone on your Zoom account.
  1. Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
  2. Go to Manage > Added Apps.
  3. Find and select Todoist Automations.
  4. Click Remove. A pop-up will appear.
  5. Click Remove again to confirm.

FAQ

Can other people in my workspace see my automations?

No. Automations are private to your Todoist account by default.

Can I connect Todoist Automations to more than one Zoom account?

No. You can only connect Todoist Automations to one Zoom account at a time.

What happens if an automation fails?

When an automation fails, the run is logged with details about which step failed and why. From there, you can fix the issue and retry with one click.
