Current issues
Widget, Safari extension, and Shortcuts actions missing on the macOS Desktop app
⚠️ Platforms affected: macOS desktop app (Mac App Store version)
🛠️ Status: Fixed in version 9.29.2, currently rolling out through the App Store (Apple's review can take a day or two).
🔍 Symptoms: On the Mac App Store version, the Todoist widget doesn't appear in the widget gallery (Edit Widgets), the Todoist Safari extension is missing from Safari's Extensions settings, and Todoist actions no longer show up in the Mac Shortcuts app (existing shortcuts may display "Unknown Action").
💡 Workaround: This only affects the Mac App Store version. You can either wait for the update to version 9.29.2, which is rolling out through the App Store, or restore everything right away by uninstalling the App Store version and downloading Todoist directly from our downloads page.
Known Limitations
Moving tasks with a large number of subtasks may fail
⚠️ Platforms affected: All
🛠️ Status: May be addressed by end of 2026.
🔍 Symptoms: A sync error appears when moving a parent task with many subtasks. If dismissed, the task and all subtasks may disappear from all platforms and cannot be recovered.
💡 Workaround: Move smaller groups of subtasks instead of all at once. If a sync error appears, do not dismiss it and contact Support immediately so the team can investigate and recover the affected tasks.
Inline images in forwarded emails appear broken in task comments
⚠️ Platforms affected: All
🛠️ Status: Known limitation - no fix planned near-term.
🔍 Symptoms: When forwarding an email with inline images (embedded in the body), the images appear broken in task comments. Clicking them opens a blank tab or returns a 403 error. File attachments are unaffected.
💡 Workaround: Attach images as file attachments instead of embedding them in the email body before forwarding.
